Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Weekday Mass.

From Oct 2018 on, a notice will only be placed here when the Mass and/or Adoration will NOT take place at the times or on the days mentioned on the Home page. There is no Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Wednesday 13th November. 


Rosary for the Benefit of the Unborn,

Normally starts at 9:30 am (St. Paul) but on the 1st November 2019 it will start at 11:00 am.

From the 1st Friday of May and every First Friday of the month thereafter, 15 decades of the Rosary will be recited; organised by the SPUC and the Knights of S. Columba.


Annual Clergy Requiem Mass.

Plymouth Cathedral, November 7th, 12:00 noon.  For the deceased  members of clergy who ministered and served their parishes for many years.  All are welcome to join Bishop Mark, priests and deacons from all over the Diocese.

Remembrance Sunday, 10th November, and Two Minute Silence on Monday 11th November.

The Service of Remembrance will take place this year at St. Materiana, starting at 10:50 am, and will be followed by laying of wreaths at the Cenotaph in St. Materiana churchyard.  There will be a two-minute silence at 11 am on the 11th at Trevena Square in the village.  Please assemble at about 10:45 am.

“Global Healing - How our Faith can help us care for our Common Home”

This is a film-based event for parishes, groups and individuals. It will inform, challenge and equip people to engage with Pope Francis’ vital call to Care For Our Common Home.  Produced by Catholic Faith Exploration on behalf of the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.  More info.: www.ourcommonhome.co.uk and our NB.


Retreats in the Diocese of Plymouth.

Each retreat is silent and individually guided by members of the Plymouth Diocesan Ignatian Spirituality Team. St Ignatius offered a vision of prayer by reflecting on one’s experiences of God and talking about them with others. All retreats will be held at Buckfast Abbeyl.
15 - 17 November (Friday–Sunday); w/e retreat - a ‘taster’ weekend for anyone who would like to try a retreat for the first time.

LIGHT FOR MY STEPS - GATHER 20 (Diocese of Plymouth)

 A weekend of faith, formation and friendship for people from the Diocese of Plymouth and beyond.  The 2020 speakers include: Sr. Gemma Simmonds, director of the Religious Life Institute, teacher and spiritual director, Monsignor Robert Draper, Vicar General of the Diocese of Plymouth, and Fr.
